Important Chapter Announcement
Posted about 1 month ago
After receiving feedback from chapter leaders and members, the HPNA Board of Directors has voted to transition HPNA Chapters to HPNA State Communities. These groups will be self-led; they will not have a board of directors. Instead, all participants can be as involved as they want to be. Plan an in-person event near you, post on the group community, or host a virtual event – the choice is up to you!
Speaking of the group community – you now have access to an online community based on your location. This will serve as a great resource to connect and network with those in your area. View the HPNA State Communities here.
Over the next few months, you’ll notice some changes to your existing HPNA chapter, which will remain active through December 31, 2024. HPNA has met with chapter leaders and provided them with information about the process. While the chapters are active through December, you may notice changes sooner.
We know change can be challenging and our goal with taking this step is to make it easier for you, our members, to connect with one another.
If you have any questions, please contact HPNA at info@hpna.org.

Please don't forget to join us on our last 2 events of the year and register through our website:
October 22, 7:30pm Medical Aid in Dying: The Role of the Nurse Practitioner.
End of year/End of Chapter Party: December 7th, 12pm at Brier Creek Beer Garden, Raleigh NC 27617
We appreciate all the support our previous and current boards have provided and especially the support of our local chapter members through the years. We hope to continue events but through the state community forum. Also a big thank you to Nursing Network, who provided us with the format and online presence, to provide information to our hospice and palliative nurses. Our website will no longer be updated or active on December 31, 2024

I am super new to the group and hate to see it go already! I just moved back to North Carolina and am trying to stay involved with legislation and advocacy! Recently I was made aware that none of the North Carolina representatives in the Senate or House are supporting or cosponsoring Senate Bill 2243! Please take a look at this bill as it’s passing could mean so much for us and our profession. Please let me know if other advocacy ways to participate for NC!
